With overwhelmingly positive results, we’re happy to share a few testimonials of Soundfly’s Orchestration For Strings course directly from our students.

We love her campaign title. “Be the Producer” invites her fans and friends to join the process directly and make an impact on her project with their contributions.

There are extras you may want or need to purchase, such as a pop shield or pop filter (this is the circular disk that you see in front of a microphone usually made from a nylon material). If you’re using an XLR mic, you’ll also need an XLR cable — I use Jumperz, but Hosa are a cheaper option and Mogami are the best and most expensive. A microphone stand may be helpful too depending on whether your mic came with one included or if you’d like to stand up to read, etc.

Drumline grants

That meant wading through lenders who asked for pay stubs and who freaked out when we didn’t have any, or even banks who weren’t interested in working with us at all. We did finally find a lender that was open minded and willing to work with us. It just took a lot of time and patience, and the underwriting process was long.

Quick tip: Although some of us still have cars old enough to have tape decks, or keep actual physical radios around to leave on for our dogs while we’re gone (just me?), you’d probably do well to also provide a digital download card so fans can love the nostalgia while being able to listen in the modern age.

This method might at first seem complicated, but your eyes are quicker than your fingers, so having reference points to refer to all around the guitar fretboard is a great first step towards familiarity.

I also enjoy the version from Morimur performed by Christoph Poppen and the Hilliard Ensemble, and I’m not alone. This is one of the most popular classical albums of all time.

If you can start getting back to the markets that are a reasonable drive away on a regular basis, you’ll start to see your network of bands and promoters, as well as your fan base grow in those cities. Once that happens and you can rely on those markets to make you some decent money on the road, it becomes feasible to start tacking on additional dates in new markets. From there, that national tour you’ve always dreamed of is just a few short steps away!

Grants for female artists

The music business in 2019 has obviously changed immensely from what it was in 1919, but one thing about music hasn’t really changed all that much: It’s still inspirational, motivational, and capable of producing emotional power and beauty. Music itself brings people together, crosses boundaries, and inspires us to be better human beings, and the artists who make it often share their perspectives in the form of statements to the same result.

Funnily, his music also set off debates across Europe about the new “trend” towards effeminate, sentimental, and “cowardly” music! Despite its popularity, people were worried composers were taking the modern opera in feminine directions. And perhaps to make matters worse, Queen Marie Antoinette rather loved his work and invited him to Paris to compose for the Academie Royale de Musique. We won’t go into the competitive “compose off” between he and Christof Gluck, but it is rather humorous that he had half of Paris up in arms about whether they’d support his music or his rival’s and declare themselves as either a Piccinnist or a Gluckist.

We all love going to see a concert that features giant stage dressings and full costumes à la Empire of the Sun, The Knife, Erykah Badu, and GWAR, but these are all performers who are trying to make “larger than life” music, and push the limits of the performance experience with mountains of finance behind them. Don’t get discouraged! You can still incorporate some big ideas even if you’re making music with less funding.

The video for “In the 1970’s” (above) is brilliant. Have you always felt free to incorporate humor into your work? I’m impressed when people have the courage not to take themselves too seriously.
